FAQ

Beginning therapy is an important decision that often comes with many questions. If your question is not answered below, please feel free to contact me directly.

What Types of Therapy Do You Offer?

I see individual clients as well as couples. I also offer the two-session Relationship Checkup as proactive care for relationship health.

How Long are Sessions?

Most sessions are 50 minutes long, but occasionally couples find it beneficial to meet for 80-minute sessions. During our initial consultation and first session we can discuss options to best meet your needs and schedule.

How Often Do We Meet?

Most clients opt for weekly sessions. Especially as we are beginning our work together, meeting weekly allows us to gain traction more quickly. We can work together to set a time and frequency that works for your goals and your schedule.

Are Sessions Held Online or In-Office?

I offer both in-person and online sessions. Please note therapy via telehealth is only available to clients currently residing in California.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you inform me at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.

How Can I Know if Therapy Will Help?

Therapy aims to deepen your understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your life. It can be beneficial for many individuals and couples. However, taking the first steps and finding a therapist can be a difficult process, and it’s important that the relationship is a good fit for everyone involved. If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you at this time, or you have questions about what to expect, feel free to ask me in a free 15-minute consultation. Most clients know whether I am a good fit for them after our initial consultation or our first few sessions. If at any time I believe your needs may be better met by a provider with different expertise than me, I can offer you a list of referrals.

What are Your Fees?

Treatment cost varies based on the type of services requested, session length, and your specific insurance coverage. To discuss services and rates in detail, please reach out for a free 15-minute consultation.

Do You Accept Insurance?

I am considered an out-of-network provider with most insurance plans. However, depending on your health insurance plan, it is possible that your services may be covered in full or in part. Insurance coverage rates for out-of-network providers vary across plans, but typically PPO plans cover 40-70% of the session cost after you’ve met your deductible. If you would like to know more about your specific insurance coverage, please reach out to your insurance company directly.

What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?

Payments can be made by credit card, cash, or check. Payment is due following each session.
